Mission and Vision
The leaders at Burley Glenwood are dedicated to building a strong community of students, parents, and staff where children are successful in a safe and supportive learning environment.
All members of the Burley Glenwood community are welcomed, valued and respected.
Our Long Range Plans…
We are very proud of our students and the success they have had academically, socially and in other areas. I am confident we will continue to improve because of the dedication, hard work and effort our staff and parents put forth throughout the year.
This is Burley Glenwood
Dear Burley Glenwood Families & Staff,
Recently, Burley Glenwood had the opportunity to host a South Kitsap School Board study session. As part of the visit, we were asked to provide an introduction to our school and share a little about what makes Burley Glenwood special. I spent some time thinking about what I wanted to say. I could have talked about our incredible staff, the learning happening in our classrooms, the relationships we build, or the many things that make our school such a wonderful place. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that the story of Burley Glenwood would be so much more meaningful coming from the people who know it best, our students. So, rather than having me tell the School Board what makes Burley special, we invited our Bears to tell that story themselves.
The result is a poem titled "This Is Burley Glenwood," brought to life by the voices of our students. It celebrates the people, relationships, opportunities, and values that make our school what it is. Most importantly, it reflects two beliefs that are at the heart of everything we do:
Every Student Known.
Everyone Is Welcome Here.
What began as a simple introduction for our School Board became something I felt was worth sharing with our entire Burley Glenwood community. I hope you'll take a few minutes to watch the video and listen to our students. Their voices remind us that what makes a school great isn't simply what happens inside its walls, but how the people within those walls make one another feel. I'm incredibly proud of our Bears, our staff, and the community we've built together.
Enjoy the video, and thank you for being part of what makes Burley Glenwood such a special place.
